PCC 5 Privacy Policy
This policy is effective at 12:01 am April 28, 2023.
The purpose of this policy is to explain what information Peterborough Condominium Corporation no. 5 (PCC 5 collects when you visit and use our website. How your information is used, stored, shared, transferred, retained, and deleted is also explained. Although, as a non-commercial, and non-profit organization, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may or may not apply to us ("PIPEDA in Brief"), we still follow the principles of that act. We do so because your privacy is important to us, and we want you to be confident that your personal information is secure.
Information we collect and what we use it for: In order to create and maintain your account and/or membership with PCC 5 we collect the following information from you:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email
We use this information to determine what information you can and cannot view on the website. We don’t advertise on our site, so we don’t track anything you do on our website to advertise to you.
The web server automatically logs a visitor’s IP address, the page viewed, and date and time of visit. This information is aggregated and used primarily for performance analytics, i.e., number of visitors, most visited areas. Aside from performance analytics, this information is used for detecting attacks on our network and data or unauthorized access.
Cookies a cookie is a small file the web browser stores on your computer when you visit websites. PCC 5 may use cookies to improve our website performance and/or and your request, store your username for future logins. You may change your browser settings to accept or reject cookies.
Limited Collection: We only collect your information for the purposes already stated.
Consent: It is your choice whether you consent to collection of personal information. If you decide not to provide the requested information, our ability to fulfill your requests for products/services will be limited.
Safeguard: Your personal information will be secured in our encrypted databases, accessible by appointed individuals only. We take all reasonable safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access. Your information will be deleted five (5) years after you have closed your account.
